A few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me what I thought about
Satellite Direct and asked me to write a Satellite to PC article. I told him that I had never
heard about this company but I would definitely check it out and get back to him.
I have to admit that when I first read the ads, I was a bit skeptical. Everything I heard about satellite to PC had always been
negative. I mean how can you possible get satellite tv on your computer and not pay monthly fees? Was this just
another satellite PC scam? After further investigation, here's what I found.
The very first bit of information I wanted to find out was, “Is it legal?”. After even further research, I
discovered "free to air satellite TV". Free to air basically allows people from all around the globe to watch
various premium programming for free on their computers and it's all 100% legal.
My second concern was picture quality. Some of the reviews that I found revealed that some people
had a negative experience with other Satellite to PC software, while Satellite Direct received the most positive.
In fact, Interactive Media Magazine called Satellite Direct “Unequivocally, the best TV to PC software on the
Net”.
How about the price? At the time of this post, there was a one time fee of $49 with no monthly fees and upon
further investigation I found out there were also no hidden fees.
After finding out about the great picture quality and one time fee, my curiosity started getting the better of
me, so instead of just researching for a friend, I actually wanted this product for myself.
Satellite to PC - The Deciding Factor
There was only one more thing that I had to find out before I made the decision to get the satellite to PC
program, "Satellite Direct"; the channels. If found that there are over 3,500 stations from movie channels to
sporting events and everything in between. There's also several foreign language channels, so no matter what
country you live, you can get satellite TV on your computer as long as you have an internet connection.
Most of my questions were answered at this point, so I decided to download Satellite Direct. Here's what
happened:
I went to the website and read all the fine print and also made sure that their ordering process was safe and
secure. After answering a few questions, I made a one time payment of $49 and went to a download instruction
screen. The download couldn't have been any easier. The whole process literally took less than 6 minutes.
Final Results of My Satellite to PC Investigation
The picture and sound quality were just as advertised. I watched several shows and a couple of great movies so
far and it was just as I was watching a television without any jumping, skipping, or freezing. The great thing is
that if you have a plasma screen television, you can connect your computer and watch everything on your big screen.
Another advantage of Satellite to PC through Satellite Direct is that this software works on both MAC
and PC. Needless to say, I canceled my satellite television subscription and saving over $100 every month. Oh
yea, and one more thing..... No Bandwidth Limits!!
The funny thing is that I forgot to tell my friend what I discovered about Satellite Direct.
Yea, there are scams all over the internet and you do have to be careful, especially with some of the free
online satellite TV software. I have to honestly say that Satellite Direct is in a different category. See what you
